APPLICATION: Co-generation
Description: Co-generation utilizes the same technology as commercial combustion technologies used in electricity generation. It involves the use of biomass material in conjunction with fossil fuels, usually coal. The biomass is commonly chipped wood, which is added to the feed coal (wood is 5-15% of total) and combusted to produce steam in a power plant.
